Great News (On the Mend)

It is about 2:00 pm on Friday. Sophia is back to her room and is on the mend. She was taken down to surgery at about 6:30 this morning. After many nurses talked to us, and her, she was finally taken back at about 7:30 and the operation began at about 8:00. We thought that it was going to be about an hour for surgery when we came up here, we then found out that it would be more like 3 hours. We sent her back after she got a little dose of "special medicine". After a LONG WAIT we got to see the doctor at about 11:15. We talked to the Doctor and he told us about the operation. He was very happy about how everything went and said that there were no complications. Her blood pressure has gone down to 106/47 (a few minutes ago) from 135/84 (last night). The doctor is very optimistic about the prospects of her not needing medicine from now on. The last time she had medicine was last night about 7:30. We will get to see Dr. Cramer (her main doctor) tonight, we think he will be happy with the results for now. They will be monitoring her closely to make sure that the blood pressure stays down. So we have been hoping for good results and so far everything seems to be going very well. She is still hooked up to a lot of things (cath, cords, IV's, and an epidural - for the pain). They say that tonight and tomorrow will be the most painful for her. She has not been awake much since the surgery. She woke up for a few minutes to see Aunt Shelly, Uncle Waylon, and Erhart who came up to sit with us while we waited and see Sophia after it was all done (even though they were not supposed to be here because of the "flu rules"). It was great to have them here, it made the time go fast, and we really appreciated it. Sophia has her movie in (E.T.) and is in and out of consciousness. It is great to have her back in our hands and a bonus that everything seems to be going so well. God has other plans for her! Thank you again to all thoughts, prayers, and support.

Daimien, Suzi, and Sophia
